All paper and posters presenters must be registered for the meeting and are responsible for the
registration fee and travel expenses.
Abstract Submission Instructions:
- Abstracts should be kept to 500 words. Accepted abstracts over this amount will be truncated by the Course Director.
- Please use correct spellings for the title, authors, and presenter as well as in the abstract form
- Abstracts too brief, or those containing insufficient data, will not be favorably considered by the Program Committee
- Do not reference any hospital or institution in the body of the abstract as abstracts are blinded to the reviewers
- There are a number of excellent opportunities for oral and poster presentations. Please indicate on the abstract
form whether your paper should be considered for an oral presentation, poster, or either.
- Submit your Abstract Submission
Abstract submission mode: Abstract text can be submitted via one of two methods:
a) Text Only, or b) as a Microsoft Word Document.
| a) | TEXT ONLY. Abstracts acceptable for Text Only submission should have no special characters
(i.e., Greek alphabetic characters, ±, =, =, °, etc.). Also, there should be no special
formatting required, such as tables or columns. Finally, no graphs or charts can be submitted
through this route (use the Microsoft Word Document submission instead). If, however, your
abstract consists of text only, the abstract can be submitted by typing or pasting it into the
text box provided on the online form. |
|
| b) | MICROSOFT WORD DOCUMENT. If your abstract has special characters (i.e., Greek alphabetic
characters, ±, =, =, °, etc.), tables, columns, charts, or graphs, you will need to submit
it as a Microsoft Word document. First, download the Microsoft Word Template from the
12th Symposium on Cochlear Implants in Children website.
Type in or paste the text, tables, charts, and/or graphs as you wish them to appear in the Word document.
DO NOT CHANGE THE FONT SIZE, PAGE MARGINS, OR PAPER SIZE FROM THEIR SETTING IN THE TEMPLATE. DO NOT EXCEED
ONE PAGE. Once your abstract appears the way you want it, upload the completed document to the website. |
Abstract Block: The abstract must include the following: why the study was done, how it was done, and
the importance of the findings. Indent the first line of each new paragraph three spaces. No reference to
the authors or institution should appear within the body of the abstract.
Corrections: Proofread carefully. Correct all mistakes before submitting your abstract online. You will
have the opportunity to edit your submission online until the deadline.
Notification of acceptance and all other correspondence related to the meeting will be sent to the author
with a copy to the presenter. Notification will be sent by April 11, 2009.
Your Program Committee can organize the best program if there are a large number of Abstracts to be considered.
Please be generous in submitting your best work. We look forward to seeing you in 2009 for another outstanding conference.
Faculty Disclosure Form Requirement

of submission, please print and complete the attached Disclosure Form and return by fax to 312-202-5003
or send electronically to info@ci2009usa.com.
